Cuban Specialties Cooked with Flair

When Martino Linares opened the doors to his new restaurant in 1992, he was 61 years old with a young family and a dream to bring his passion for Cuba to the people of Somerville. More than 15 years later, Martino's Cuban Restaurant is a beloved fixture of the Somerville culinary scene. His 4 sons, exposed to the restaurant during their youth, are now involved in running the business and ensure that each dish that comes our of the kitchen retains the same level of quality that has been a hallmark of this community favorite.

With day-to-day operations now passed to his sons, the Linares family tradition of preparing flavorful and hearty pre-Castro style cuisine continues, with a modern twist added to some of the daily specials to keep it interesting. Everything is made from scratch and you'll often be greeted by a member of the Linares clan when you enter the restaurant.

Your favorite entrees remain on the menu: Cuban Sandwiches, Arroz Con Pollo, Mariscos a lo Martino, and Ropa Vieja.

Appetizers such as ham croquettes, meat pies, chicharrones and tostones can be ordered separately or as Sampler Plates for your entire party to enjoy. Soups are made daily. While the Black Bean soup is a perennial favorite, you might want tot take a chance on their Chicken and Vegetable Soup or Cuban Style Tripe Soup.

Every meal comes with rive, black beans and plantains. You have a choice of white rice, yellow rice, or congri.

Leave room for 1 of their delicious desserts such as Tres Leches Cake or Flan Caramel Custard.

For the newcomer, the Executive Luncheon Buffet, available Tuesday through Friday from 11am-2pm is a fabulous introduction to the many traditional dishes of this flavorful cuisine. Entrees, soup, and dessert are rotated daily - so there's always variety. The buffet menu usually consists of chicken, pork, and/or beef entrees, 2 rice selections, appetizer and a homemade dessert. You'll always find their incredible house salad with avocado dressing and of course black beans and plantains. The $9.75 price includes soda and the attentive service of friendly staff that are happy to tell you about the foods served at the restaurant.

In addition to lunch and dinner, Martino's can accommodate private parties for up to 35 guests in the restaurant. Or, even bring a taste of Cuba to a catered event at your home or business.

Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages to accompany their meal.
